Nathan Ruhnow obtained his BA in History from the University of Illinois in 2008, after which he enlisted in the Marine Corps Reserve and served for 6 years as a Combat Engineer. After deploying to Afghanistan in 2012, he continued his education at Eastern Illinois University and obtained his license in Secondary Education with a focus on the Social Sciences. While attending EIU, Nathan began employment at Macy’s Department Store in Champaign, Illinois and eventually rose to a management position in Carbondale, Illinois. After the closure of the Macy’s location in Carbondale, Nathan joined the VCP as a technician in July 2020 and graduated in March 2021. After graduating from the VCP, Nathan worked as a Veterans Service Officer for nearly 2 years with the Missouri Veterans Commission, helping the veteran community in the St. Louis metro region obtain their state and Federal veterans’ benefits. Nathan currently serves as Assistant Lab Manager for the St. Louis VCP, having accepted the position in May 2023. Nathan is excited to be rejoining the VCP team and is looking forward to the opportunity to continue serving the veteran community in a new role. |
