The artifacts and documents that make up the Blue Springs Lake Project investigation are associated with archaeological excavations conducted between 1983 and 1984 in Jackson County, Missouri including the Cold Clay site and the Black Belly site. The St. Louis VCP laboratory received 14 boxes of artifacts and 17 linear inches of field, analysis, and report records from the Blue Springs Lake Project. Technicians processed and inventoried the artifacts before rehousing them in archival-quality bags and containers. Artifacts representing different material classes were digitally photographed using forensic photography equipment. The associated documents were inventoried, cleaned and mended, and digitized to aid in the preservation and accessibility of the information gleaned from this excavation.
